The Jax Beach library has resources that can help. Visit the special Genealogy Collection and take advantage of the dozens of resources they’ve collected for patrons doing genealogical research. There are even specially trained librarians on staff that can help you navigate the collection and find what you’re looking for.
Preserve Your Old Photos and Videos at the Digitization Station
If you have precious memories on film or VHS, it’s a good idea to consider digitizing them, or creating digital copies to preserve them. Digitizing an old media collection can be an intimidating venture, but again, the library is here to help. Visit the library’s Digitization Station and you can take advantage of all the resources they have on site to assist you. Call ahead and make an appointment with a reference librarian, and you’ll have two hours with them to figure out the equipment and get the job done. Imagine having a lifetime of memories at your fingertips after one simple appointment. And best of all, like everything else at the library, it’s free!
